The Zipline Community Package offers a community-focused website and app, customised to your needs. To give you an idea of how your community could look and feel, you can create your very own, free demo community. If you haven’t already, just click the button below to get your free demo community.
Creating your demo community only takes a couple of minute! Once set up, we’d encourage you to explore the following activities:
1: Complete the onboarding checklist
The Onboarding checklist is designed to reduce the time it takes new members to sign up, ensuring they get the best experience from your platform.
Your Onboarding checklists will be customised to your community, based on the features you choose to focus on.
We’ve added a few key actions to the demo community for you to check off, to give you an idea of how the feature works.

2: Sign up as a new member
When you create your free demo community, you will receive an email with all the details you need to get started. But did you know, you can create as many new accounts as you want? Here’s how:
- Go to your community and log out.
- Now, use the Register button and follow the on-screen prompts
Done! An avatar will be automatically added to your new account. A different avatar will be added for each account you create!
Good to know
- Once you have completed sign up, you will be asked to submit card details.
- IMPORTANT – we have set Stripe, our preferred payment service, to test mode. This means you do not have to add your real card details and you are never going to be charged! When you get to the payment screen add the card number 42424242424242.

3: Make friends!
The cornerstone of any community is the ability to friend or follow other community members. We’ve turned on both options for your demo community (we’ll usually suggest you only have one or the other in a real project).
Making friends with someone means you can send InMail messages to each other and set up live chats. It can also unlock access to other features – though these have not been set on the demo community.

4: Message someone in your demo community
You can message anyone you have created a friendship connection with, within the community. It uses a service called InMail.
Click the mail icon at the top right of the demo community to start messaging.
InMail allows members to privately message each other, while protecting their email addresses (and other personally identifiable information) from each other.

5: Participate in a live chat
Live Chat is a powerful WhatsApp like chat service, allowing members to communicate in real time. Chats can be added to any page, associated to groups or can be started between members. Live
Good to know: Live Chat is even better when you use the app! Device notifications ensure you never miss a beat.
